Getting started

First launch: explore with sample data, or link a bank and run first-month setup.

Polaris is an envelope budget on your iPhone. It is for a normal household — a paycheck, rent or a mortgage, groceries, a card. There is no Polaris account to create. Your books live on the phone and, if iCloud Drive is on, in your iCloud.

Two honest ways in

• Explore with sample data — walk every tab with a fictional book. Nothing you do here is your money. Turn demo mode off in Settings when you are ready.
• Link a bank — optional and read-only. You can also add accounts by hand.

Then set the first month

The guided setup asks you to pick a start month, glance at balances, and tell us how each credit card is used (pay in full vs carry). That is what makes Ready to Assign trustworthy. See First-month setup.
