These terms govern your use of Polaris Budget (the “App”) and this website. In the App, you agree by continuing from the last welcome screen (Add Your Accounts or Explore with sample data). If you do not agree, do not use the App or site.

What the App is

Polaris Budget is a personal budgeting and financial-planning tool. It helps you organize accounts, transactions, budgets, and long-term scenarios. It is not a bank, broker, investment adviser, tax adviser, or lender.

Not an investment adviser

Polaris is not registered as an investment adviser and does not provide personalized securities recommendations. Planning simulations and portfolio comparisons are user-driven calculators.

Not financial, investment, or tax advice

Retirement simulations (including any “percent of paths” or success-style figures), portfolio returns and benchmarks, cash-flow outlooks, debt-payoff dates, card-rewards estimates, and similar numbers are illustrative estimates from a model and the assumptions you enter. They may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. They are not a prediction of your future, not a probability that applies to real markets, and not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, retire, borrow, or change accounts. They are not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Past performance (including “your return” versus a market index) does not guarantee future results. Official statements from your bank, broker, or issuer control if they disagree with the App. Decide for yourself or consult a qualified professional.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for decisions you make based on the App.
• You must only link accounts you are authorized to access.
• You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, and passcode secure.

Third-party services

Bank linking and market data are provided by third parties (for example Quiltt, networks such as Plaid or Finicity, and market-data vendors). Their availability, accuracy, and terms are outside our control. Quotes may be delayed or come from a fallback source. Outages or errors from those services may affect the App. You must accept those providers’ terms when you use linking.

Subscriptions

You can download the App and explore it with sample data without a subscription. Linking a bank or adding your own accounts requires an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple, at the price shown in the app at purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings.

New subscribers can try Polaris Budget free for 2 weeks.* Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, Apple charges you for the plan you chose, at the price shown at purchase, and the plan renews until you cancel. Plans are $9.99/month or $79.99/year in the US, billed by Apple.

If your subscription ends, a budget with linked bank accounts opens one more time, then locks until you subscribe again. After it locks, your linked banks are disconnected, and you link them again when you come back. Nothing in your budget is deleted. A budget with only manual accounts stays open, but adding an account needs a subscription. A partner on your budget keeps access for up to 30 days after yours ends.

Local-first data

Financial data is stored on your device and (if enabled) in your Apple iCloud account. Our relay server is not a system of record for your finances. See the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the App or our servers (including attempting to probe, abuse rate limits, reverse-engineer secrets, or use the service for unlawful purposes).

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that balances, transactions, or projections will be accurate or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if you have paid us nothing).

New Jersey consumers

To the extent a limitation of liability, disclaimer, or damages cap is unenforceable under New Jersey law, it does not apply to New Jersey consumers.

California privacy requests

We do not sell personal information. California residents may use the support form to request access or deletion of information we hold that is tied to an email they sent (support or feature notes). We do not host their financial book.

Governing law

These terms are governed by U.S. law. Mandatory consumer-protection laws of your state still apply where they cannot be waived.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. The App may ask you to agree again when terms change in a material way.
